Students entering St Francis of Assisi Primary School at Foundation level have several opportunities to visit the school and experience school life. The process begins with an Open Day in Term Two of the year prior to Foundation. Following enrolment interviews and placement offers there are two or three transition visits where new students spend time at St Francis of Assisi Primary School getting to know the school, staff and other students who are joining the College. In December there is an Orientation Day where all students at the College spend a day in their class groups for the following year.
For students entering at other year levels transition days can be arranged where time can be spent at St Francis of Assisi Primary School becoming accustomed to the school. There is also the Orientation Day. All new families to the school are encouraged to spend time speaking with the relevant teachers to discuss how to best support new students.
Students who depart St Francis of Assisi Primary School at the end of Year Six take part in the transition program organised by Catholic College Wodonga. This usually involves a number of visits to Catholic College Wodonga and visits by Catholic College staff to meet Year Six students.
Transition to other schools can be arranged on an individual basis.
